Program – Saturday, August 4th
10am Story Time + craft
You’re never too young to discover the joys of reading! Settle in and enjoy a story and some craft activities. (Age 2-5)
11.00am-12.00pm A remarkable appearance by Tim Harris
Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables was one of the runaway smash hits in Australian children’s literature last year, and the rollicking sequel, Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables Fight Back, is here! Join the author Tim Harris for an exciting and quirky adventure into the world of reading and writing. And perhaps an Exploding Ending or two. (Age 8+)
1.30pm-2.30pm Meet Jackie French
One of Australia’s best-loved authors, Jackie French has written more than 200 books for children (and adults) (and wombats) and will share all her warmth, wit and wisdom about reaading and writing in this not-to-be-missed event.
Jackie loves it when her audiences get involved, so she will be awarding some special (book) prizes for those who wear costumes. Categories are:
• Best koala or wombat* (any age)
• A ‘book parade’ with a difference: Prizes for the best book costume… not a favourite character from a book, but the book itself.
‘Book parade’ awards will be given in the following categories:
*Kangaroos will be disqualified, but may compete in the Best Book Costume
The Shoalhaven Readers’ And Writers’ Festival Children’s Program will also incorporate two author visits to schools by local author A.L. Tait. These will take place on Friday 3 August, 2018.
